RESPONSIBLE TO

Farm/Program Manager and members of the grounds committee of the Shalom Hill Farm Board.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Site Maintenance and improvement:

• Maintain maintenance priorities list with Farm Manager and complete identified priorities autonomously or as directed.

• Conduct lawn/garden maintenance including mowing, trimming, raking, tree removal or landscaping as needed.

• Complete projects to repair, improve, or maintain existing or new site elements.

• Participate in activities contributing to the success of ornamental and vegetable gardens.

 

Equipment use and maintenance:

• Conduct basic equipment maintenance and repairs as directed, or report when a repair is outside of your capacity.

Animal Care:

• Assist with tasks related to care of sheep and chickens which may include feeding, watering, cleaning barns, administering medications, or relocating animals.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow the personnel policies of Shalom Hill Farm.

• Be willing to undertake additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must have strong Christian commitment.

• Must be able to operate tractors, mowers, chainsaws and other maintenance and landscaping. equipment and/or be willing to learn.

• Must be able to lift and move items such as firewood, snow, brush and other program and work. materials as well as care for chickens and sheep and other farm animals.

• Must be willing to abide by guidelines of Shalom Hill Farm Policies.

 

TERMS AND COMPENSATION

This person shall be an at will employee with an end date on or before Oct. 31, subject to termination in accordance with the Personnel Policies of Shalom Hill Farm.  This is a non-exempt, seasonal position with flexible hours working 15-40 hours per week during the Spring, Summer, or Fall seasons. This position shall pay 18.00/hour.
